Nord Gas Solutions Cargo Handling and Fuel Gas Supply System again selected for Very Large Ethane Gas Carriers, being built at Samsung Heavy Industries
Nord Gas Solutions has once again been selected by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to supply the cargo handling and fuel gas supply system for two additional Very Large Ethane Gas Carriers (VLECs) being built at the SHI yard in South Korea. The vessels are being built for an established joint venture based in Asia. This latest order follows the previously announced contract for five VLECs and further strengthens the long-standing cooperation between Nord Gas Solutions, SHI, and MOL. The repeat selection underscores the proven performance and reliability of Nord Gas Solutions' cargo handling and fuel gas supply technology for ethane carriers. Nord Gas Solutions' scope of supply includes the engineering of the cargo handling and fuel gas supply system process plant, as well as the associated sub-systems. The delivery also comprises all required equipment, instrumentation, interface materials between the cargo tanks and hull, and the cargo control system. Nord Gas Solutions specialists will support the yard throughout construction and commissioning of the vessels. "The award of these additional vessels is a strong vote of confidence from SHI. Nord Gas Solutions Secures Poland’s First bioLNG Plant Project
Nord Gas Solutions has secured a contract for a 35-ton-per-day biogas liquefaction plant in Poland, marking a significant milestone in the country's developing biomethane sector. The project is expected to become Poland's first bioLNG production plant and represents an important step in the development of renewable gas infrastructure in the region. The facility will convert biogas into bioLNG using Nord Gas Solutions' Puregas CA75 LBG and Puregas MR35 technologies. Developed as a brownfield conversion project, the plant will utilize existing biogas production infrastructure to enable renewable fuel production. With project execution commencing immediately, the development demonstrates how existing biogas assets can be upgraded to support the production of renewable fuels. The plant will process manure-based biogas into low-carbon-intensity bioLNG, contributing to reduced emissions in the transport sector while creating additional value from agricultural residues. Poland has considerable potential for biomethane production, particularly within its agricultural sector. While the country's biomethane market remains at an early stage of development, demand for renewable fuels continues to grow across Europe. BioLNG offers a pathway for utilizing biogas in transport applications while reducing reliance on gas grid injection infrastructure, which may be limited in certain locations. A significant share of the bioLNG produced by the facility is expected to be supplied to the transport market, where demand for low-carbon fuels continues to increase. "This project highlights the role bioLNG can play in supporting the energy transition while creating value from agricultural resources," said Magnus Folkelid, Sales Manager, Biogas at Nord Gas Solutions. Nord Gas Solutions awarded contract for cargo handling and fuel supply systems for eight new VLGC vessels Nord Gas Solutions has been contracted to supply the Cargo Handling System (CHS) and LPG Fuel Supply System (LFSS) for eight new 90,000 m³ Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) vessels ordered by BW LPG. The vessels will be constructed at HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HD HM), marking the first time that VLGC vessels will be built at this yard within HD. The contract was signed in August 2026. The award further strengthens the long-standing relationship between Nord Gas Solutions and BW LPG and reinforces Nord Gas Solutions’ position as a trusted supplier of integrated cargo handling and fuel supply solutions for the global LPG carrier market. The project also represents another significant milestone in cooperation with HD HHI, the world’s largest shipbuilding group and a global leader in gas carrier construction.
