Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Compliance Standards
Nord Gas Solutions is fundamentally committed to the principle that all work-related injuries and environmental incidents are preventable. We maintain this commitment through the systematic implementation of occupational health and safety management systems aligned with ISO 45001 standards, and environmental management systems aligned with ISO 14001. We extend this commitment across our entire value chain and expect all suppliers, vendors, contractors, and subcontractors to adopt equivalent standards. Suppliers must demonstrate proactive risk identification, risk-based mitigation strategies, and continuous performance improvement in QHSE matters.

Hazardous Substances Management and Chemical Compliance
Numerous jurisdictions worldwide impose legal restrictions on hazardous substances through legislation including the EU REACH Regulation, the EU RoHS Directive, and equivalent national regulations in jurisdictions where Nord Gas Solutions operates. These regulatory frameworks recognise that hazardous substances pose material risks to human health, human rights, and environmental integrity at every stage of their lifecycle from extraction and manufacturing through use and end-of-life disposal.
Nord Gas Solutions is contractually obligated to maintain complete traceability of hazardous substances in all supplied materials and to provide accurate chemical composition data to our customers. Suppliers are essential partners in this obligation and must provide comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information regarding substance content in all supplied materials, goods, and components.
Nord Gas Solutions Black and Grey Substance List
The Nord Gas Solutions Nord Gas Solutions Black and Grey (Restricted and Prohibited) Substance List indicates the substances classified as restricted and prohibited at Nord Gas Solutions. As the Nord Gas Solutions Restricted and Prohibited Substance List does not correspond to national regulations, the most restrictive limitations of the national regulations and of the Nord Gas Solutions Restricted and Prohibited Substance List shall be in force. Suppliers should regularly check for updates to the Nord Gas Solutions Restricted and Prohibited Substance List.

Under the EU REACH Regulation and equivalent global legislation, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) are subject to mandatory declaration and management requirements. Suppliers must immediately notify Nord Gas Solutions if any delivered article contains SVHC in concentrations exceeding 0.1% weight by weight, or if such substances appear in component or raw material supply chains. Notification must occur prior to delivery and must include comprehensive toxicological data, risk mitigation measures, and product safety information. Failure to declare SVHC constitutes non-compliance.
Conflict Minerals Due Diligence and Sourcing Integrity
Nord Gas Solutions is committed to the responsible sourcing of minerals and operates in full compliance with international frameworks addressing conflict minerals, including the OECD Due Diligence Guidance on the Responsible Supply of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. Suppliers must provide written certification that all tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (3TGs) incorporated in supplied materials originate from conflict-free sources. This requirement extends throughout the entire supplier value chain, requiring suppliers to conduct due diligence on their own sub-tier suppliers and maintain documented evidence of compliance. Suppliers must implement systems to trace the origin of all 3TGs and to identify and mitigate risks of supporting armed groups or contributing to human rights impacts.
Conflict-Free Product Requirements:
• The supplied material or product contains no tin, tantalum, tungsten, or gold (3TGs) whatsoever
• All 3TGs sourced originate exclusively from regions outside the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and its adjoining countries
• Where 3TGs are sourced from the DRC or adjoining countries, suppliers must provide documented evidence that minerals have been processed through conflict-free supply chains and have not financed armed groups, activities related to armed groups, or widespread human rights violations.
EHS Management at Nord Gas Solutions Operations and Project Sites
Contractual EHS Requirements and Expectations for Contractors and Service Providers
Nord Gas Solutions has established mandatory Contractor EHS (Environment, health and safety) Requirements that define the minimum standards, systems, and behaviours required for all contractors, vendors, and service providers undertaking work at Nord Gas Solutions facilities, project sites, or operations. These requirements reflect our fundamental belief that workplace injuries and environmental incidents are preventable through systematic hazard management, competence-based task allocation, and sustained management commitment.
The requirements are based on industry best practices, applicable legislation including the Norwegian Working Environment Act and equivalent international standards, and lessons learned from incident investigations. All contractors must implement equivalent management systems, provide certified training evidence for all personnel, and participate in Nord Gas Solutions' safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
Nord Gas Solutions is committed to a Zero Injury philosophy and expects all contractors, vendors, and service providers to share and demonstrate the same commitment in their operations.
